* Not appropriate for horned livestock.
The West Coast Bale Cinch Net is designed for use with larger 100+ lb. 3-string bales or 2-2 ½ two-string small bales of hay. Made of high-quality, UV-treated nylon, DuPont® fiber. Looking for a smaller capacity bale net - check out our Small Bale Cinch Net.
New Customers: 1 ¼” and 1 ¾” are the most popular mesh sizes - ¼” makes a significant difference in rate of consumption. If you have never used a slow feeder we suggest the 1 ¾”. Smaller mesh sizes do not necessarily equate to your equine eating slower - they may not be able to eat at all or become frustrated and destructive. Questions on Mesh Size? For Barefoot Horses: Use bale nets under cover as an always-have hay source and add Standard Hay Pillows or Mini Hay Pillows to encourage movement.
For Shod Horses: Use Hanging Hay Pillows or Day Nets hung in multiple locations to encourage movement!
Mobility promotes gut motility and overall mental and physical health.
The West Coast Bale Cinch Net can be used loose on the ground or attached at ground level (barefoot horses only) - or clipped inside a trough secured to a post or wall tall enough to prevent a hoof being placed inside it (shod or barefoot horses).
Please note: Due to the dangers involved in using any mesh material that can potentially get caught in a horseshoe, this product should not be used on the ground by shod livestock. We do not recommend use with horned animals or horses with blankets or halters that can potentially become snared in netting.
